What Are Trust Levels? How to Level Up from “New User” to “Regular”

CarbConnect Community uses a Trust Level system (TL0–TL3) to encourage positive engagement and build a safe, helpful environment for everyone.

You may see labels like these when viewing user profiles or roles:

:blue_square: 0: new user
:green_square: 1: basic user
:yellow_square: 2: member
:orange_square: 3: regular

These labels match internal Trust Levels (TL0–TL3), which are automatically assigned based on your activity.

You just joined! To unlock basic features, increase your activity to reach TL1.

:green_square: Trust Level 1 – Basic User

You’ll be promoted automatically after you:

  • Enter at least 5 topics
  • Read at least 30 posts
  • Spend 10 minutes reading posts

:yellow_square: Trust Level 2 – Member

Requires more consistent activity:

  • Read 100 posts, spend 60+ minutes reading
  • Visit the site on 15 different days
  • Reply to 50 topics, give and receive 200 likes

:orange_square: Trust Level 3 – Regular

For long-term, highly engaged members:

  • Active in 50 of the last 100 days
  • Read 500+ posts, reply to 100 topics, view 200 topics
  • No recent flagged posts, and 500 likes given/received

:pushpin: Why it matters:
Higher Trust Levels unlock more features — such as posting more often, editing community content, flagging, or helping moderate.
